Music and Drama

At Lake Norman Christian School, the performing arts provide students with opportunities to discover their God-given talents, build confidence, and experience the joy of creative expression. Through music and drama, students are encouraged to develop their abilities with purpose and use their gifts to glorify God both in the classroom and beyond.

Our music program develops a strong foundation in reading, writing, singing, listening, and performance, helping students grow in both musical knowledge and skill. Students are encouraged not only to become capable musicians, but also to develop a lifelong appreciation for music and understand how it can be used as an expression of worship and praise.

Through drama, students explore the foundations of theatre while developing skills in creativity, communication, characterization, and collaboration. Role-play and performance experiences encourage students to strengthen their confidence, cultivate their imaginations, and learn the value of working together toward a shared goal. Students develop a knowledge and love for performance, production, set design, and technical management all for the glory of God. Past shows include The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, Chronicles of Narnia, Into the Woods, High School Musical, Annie, and Mary Poppins.

Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or making music together, students are encouraged to pursue excellence, express themselves creatively, and recognize the performing arts as another meaningful way to honor God and share their gifts with others.
